Odilia Bermudez, PhD, MPH

Dr. Odilia Bermudez, PhD, MPH, LDN, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine at Tufts University’s School of Medicine.  She also holds secondary appointments as Associate Professor of Nutrition at the Friedman School and as Adjunct Scientist at the USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging. Dr. Bermudez’s research focuses on the application of dietary and nutritional assessment methodologies, the relationship between diet, nutrient intake and chronic conditions, food security and development in Central America, and the evaluation of socio-cultural and environmental determinants of food intake and health status of population groups.  Dr. Bermudez holds a Ph.D. in Nutrition (University of Massachusetts), a Master’s in Public Health (University of San Carlos, Guatemala), and advanced training in Food, Nutrition, Biotechnology and Poverty from the United Nations University (Chile and Guatemala).
