Ana Moltedo works as a Food Security and Nutrition International Consultant in the Statistics Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.  For more than 10 years Ana’s work has been focused on deriving food security and nutrition indicators from food consumption data collected in national household surveys. Her activities included performing capacity development to over 20 countries through national and regional workshops and collaborating on the release of the free, stand-alone software ADePT-Food Security Module (ADePT-FSM), developed jointly by the World Bank and FAO. She has also worked as a consultant for the World Bank focusing her activities on the tool CAPI (Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing)-Survey Solutions. This tool assists governments, statistical offices and non-governmental organizations in conducting complex surveys with dynamic structures using tablet devices. Prior to her work at FAO and the World Bank, Ana worked for five years for a Spanish multi-sector information technology company - Indra (ex Soluziona) in Uruguay and Argentina, where she focused on software development including data migration for large companies. Her work with the INDDEX project will focus on identifying nutritional indicators to be derived from national household survey data and included in ADePT-FSM. She holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad de la República (Uruguay).
