Mourad Moursi, PhD

Mourad Moursi is a senior research fellow at HarvestPlus, a program of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), where he has worked since 2009. He is currently managing the funding and implementation of a portfolio of nutrition studies on the impact of biofortified crops in Asia. He also leads dietary assessment activities within HarvestPlus and has helped over 20 teams and partners plan and successfully conduct 24-hour recall surveys. He responsibilities include the development of a software used by HarvestPlus and its partners for the entry, management, and processing of dietary data. Before joining IFPRI, Mourad worked in Madagascar on the development and validation of indicators of child feeding and on monitoring and evaluation of child feeding programs in Vietnam and Burkina Faso. An Egyptian/French binational, Mourad received his PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Paris 6 (France) and his Masters in Public Health Nutrition from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK).
